At StressFish we review and walkthrough Colouring Books for Adults. A way you can immerse yourself into a world of colour and calm. Mindfulness. Respite from a busy life, high stress levels or simply just for a little creative fun and reliving the childhood charm of colouring in.

Working with your hands is one of the best ways to soothe anxiety and eliminate stress. This stunning, pocket-sized colouring book offers a practical exercise in mindfulness that draws on your creativity and hones your focus.

Beautifully illustrated by Emma Farrarons, The Mindfulness Colouring Book is filled with templates for exquisite scenes and intricate, sophisticated patterns, prompting you to meditate on your artwork as you mindfully and creatively fill these pages with colour. Take a few minutes out of your day, wherever you are, and colour your way to peace and calm.

This book is compact, around 12cm x 18cm. In some ways its perfect for sticking in your pocket and taking anywhere. In other ways its fiddly and awkward to colour in the middle without flexing the spine a lot. Most pages have illustrations going from edge to edge though so plenty of colouring space. Paper is thick and of good quality, bleeding should not be too much of a concern.

There is a variety of drawings, from symmetrical patterns to cats, mushrooms and flowers. Some are maybe a little too basic but I believe the book caters for everyone. If you want a quick doodle or a more complex design, there are options for all. The illustrations haven’t been straightened and perfected, they are wavy and wobbly which adds to the charm.

This book has a little for everyone. The size can be a positive and negative. It certainly isn’t one to get the kids round to help (without bumping hands and pencils), but ideal for a little scribble whilst at your desk or on your commute. There are some intricate little illustrations and some very basic shapes, pick and choose depending on the time and patience you have available.

We like this book, it’s not the most intricate or exquisite we’ve coloured, but its convenient and has some wonderful pages. Personally I don’t always need a large book full with elaborate illustrations. On my desk i would have this book, quick and simple for a little stress relief!
