A very interesting article in The Star Online today, highlighting one of the biggest reasons why here at StressFish we believe colouring books can be so calming.

The article explains how technology is leaving us unproductive and disconnected from other people. The constant need to check for notifications and updates, can be detrimental to our physical and mental state.

And for the stat lovers….

Nearly nine out of 10 Americans report being so tethered to their digital gadgets that they constantly or often check their email, texts and social media accounts, a new poll shows
Nearly one-fifth of Americans identified technology as a significant source of stress, according to the survey of more than 3,500 adults living in the US.

Whilst I’m not sure a complete technology amnesty would work for me, I think I will try a day or two without the mobile phone. I managed for years without one so why is it different now?

The modern world has an overload in technology, colouring books can assist us in trying to escape its grasp: even if its just a moment or two so we can then share our completed pictures on social media 🙂
